Inspirations throughout this project

Sally Mann:
A Deep South photographer working primarily in black and white 1951-present. Her work is brooding, atmospheric and has undertones of death and decay. Her work was perfect to look at in terms of the novel 'Other Voices, Other Rooms' as they both have many crossover themes.

Andrew Wyeth:

Andrew Wyeth was a Pennsylvanian painter born in 1917. His work is often of bleak landscapes with mysterious figures or intriguing windows. These inspired me with their subtleties of light and their implied narratives.

Raymond Pettibon:

Raymond Pettibon is an American artist who came to prominence in the 1980s creating album artwork and posters on the Californian punk rock music scene. I found Pettibon inspiring because of the rawness of his work. I find that I am always trying to finish things whereas after looking at him I realised that art is often more interesting when it is loose and expressive.
